Palais Friedrich

The project

"Kriegsstraße re-imagined – urban and calm at once.
Where traffic once dominated, a new place of quality has emerged. The Motel One combines a central location with a high degree of comfort: quadruple-glazed windows ensure acoustic calm, flexible zones structure the interior, and nesting boxes integrated into the façade support urban biodiversity. In this way, urban density becomes a strength – and arrival becomes a moment of retreat."

Responsibility under one roof – for the State of Baden-Württemberg

With Palais Friedrich, a place of work is being created that unites public functions with architectural substance. The future main tenant – the Karlsruhe public prosecutor’s office – will receive around 6,500 m² of high-quality modernised office space in a central location. Clarity in spatial organisation and purposefulness in use characterise a building that fosters trust and ensures continuity.

Heritage meets future – substance becomes perspective

The listed Palais Friedrich at Lammstraße 19 stands as an expression of architectural continuity. The careful refurbishment not only preserves the Gründerzeit façade structure but also upgrades the building’s energy performance to contemporary standards. The new attic storey adds open, light-flooded office areas – creating a bridge between historic fabric and the working environments of tomorrow.
